THE ORIGINAL TT TROPHY – REM FOWLER’S ISLE OF MAN TT HIP FLASK | COLUMNS | GASSIT GARAGE

The hip flask awarded to the first-ever winner of a motorcycle TT held on the Isle of Man in 1907 sold at a different Bonham’s Auction last month, where it fetched $46,171. It might sound like a hit to the hip pocket for a century-old hip flask, but Rem Fowler’s hard-earned prize is widely regarded as one of the TT’s most significant pieces of memorabilia.

Other notable items sold at the same auction were an as-new 1989 Honda RC30 which went for $87,026 and the Super MMX1 machine Texan Colin Edwards rode to 20th place in the 2012 MotoGP World Championship, which attracted $84,901.
