ASBK HITS THE WILD WEST | NEWS

Riders from across the nation will cross the country next weekend (June 3-5) to do battle at Round 4 of the Australian Superbike Championship at Barbagello.

Riders from across the nation will cross the country next weekend (June 3-5) to do battle at Round 4 of the Australian Superbike Championship at Barbagello.

The series has delivered scorching competition so far, with Yamaha’s Glenn Allerton and Wayne Maxwell running neck and neck in the Championship, just six points clear of Troy Herfoss’ (Crankt Protein Honda). The technically demanding layout is likely to favour the attributes of the fireblade, but keep an eye on reigning ASBK Champion Mike Jones will also be fighting hard to stay in contention on his new Desmosport Ducati Panigale.

In the supersport category, Troy Guenther’s currently leads with a 6-point advantage over Sam Clarke whose talent will be bolstered by a home track advantage in WA. Callum Spriggs is a threat to both riders in third, and with just handful of points in it spectators can expect some fireworks when this trio lines up on the grid.

The R3 class takes a break from racing duties in WA but will return with bar banging racing for the next round at Morgan Park in Queensland in the first weekend of August (5th-7th) where guest rider Tayla Jones will take the reigns from AMCN’s very own Editor Chris Dobie.
