Morbidelli looks set to expand its 125cc line-up with a more off-road-focused machine
An unfamiliar, Morbidelli-branded 125cc single has appeared in the latest batch of Chinese design registration documents indicating plans to launch it in the near future.
Designated T125WR in the documents, the bike’s name aligns with the company’s existing T125 dual-sport bike and T125X adventure model, but it shares little else with those machines – featuring a different engine and chassis and taking a more serious approach to its offroad ability.

While the Qianjiang conglomerate ownership of Morbidelli means there’s huge potential for parts-sharing the new T125WR doesn’t appear to be a rebranded version of another model.
The engine is clearly a DOHC, liquid-cooled single, mounted in a tubular steel frame, and the Morbidelli name cast into the clutch cover leaves no doubt as to its brand. An upside-down fork is paired to a rear monoshock, acting on a cast alloy swingarm, and the overall stance and shape is clearly motocross-derived. Only the presence of a licence place and tail lights, a tiny headlight set into the front number board, a sidestand and provision for pillion footpegs show this model is intended for the street.
The engine size and configuration mean’s it’s likely to make around 11kW (15hp), the upper limit for learner-legal 125s in Europe.
