LAND SPEED RECORD ATTEMPT ON TRACK | NEWS

Guy Martin and the Triumph Infor Racket team are presently completing test runs across the famouse Bonneville Salt at Utah in preparation for an assault on the motorcycle land speed record later this week. The current record held by Ack Attack is 376.36mph (6-5.70km/h).

During an early practice run this week Martin steered the streamliner across the seven-mile course at 198mph (304km/h), slower than his previous best of 274.2 mph (441.28km/h) and well short of the 300mph (482.80km/h) he required to be cleared for a crack at the record.

The team suffered a small mishap on Friday when the streamliner became stuck in a rut while being towed to the start line and tipped over.
