Limited-run rally machine offers factory-spec performance and genuine Dakar-winning pedigree – for a price

KTM’s Dakar-winning pedigree is set to reach a select number of riders in Australia and New Zealand with the arrival of the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica, a factory-derived machine being offered in very limited numbers.

Aimed at aspiring rally racers and serious off-road riders, the latest Rally Replica brings competition-bred engineering straight from the world’s toughest race. It is designed to deliver the same technical foundation that has helped KTM secure another overall Dakar Rally victory this year.

For the past five years, the KTM 450 Rally Replica has stood as the brand’s clearest expression of rally performance. Development of its parts, setup and overall capability has flowed directly from top-level competition. Since 2020, the machine has carried four different riders to Dakar victory and has remained a major force in RallyGP. As its name suggests, this is a genuine replica in the truest sense, offering one of the closest experiences possible to a full race-ready rally bike.

Production will again be tightly controlled, with just over 100 examples set to be released globally this year. Ride-away pricing is $69,995in Australia.

Power comes from a 450cc fuel-injected single-cylinder SOHC engine paired with a six-speed gearbox and a premium Brembo hydraulic clutch with rally-specific gearing. A titanium Akrapovič exhaust system helps reduce weight while boosting performance.

The chassis has been designed with serious rally use in mind. Its hydro-formed, laser-cut and hand-welded frame is engineered to achieve the right balance of longitudinal and torsional flex, giving the rider a strong sense of feedback while maintaining stability at speed. That package is backed up by fully adjustable WP Pro suspension.

KTM has also fitted the Rally Replica with a long list of purpose-built rally components. Dual radiators improve cooling efficiency and add an extra level of reliability in the event of terrain damage. CNC-machined triple clamps with a 23mm offset are designed for stiffness without unnecessary weight, while the aluminium tapered handlebar is fitted with rally-proven foam rubber grips. Wider footpegs are also used to improve grip and control.

Stopping power comes from Brembo brakes, while long-range ability is a major part of the package thanks to a three-tank fuel system with a total capacity of 34.5 litres. The carbon-fibre navigation tower sits at the centre of the cockpit and is ready for a digital roadbook setup, complete with intuitive controls and a powerful LED. KTM says the ergonomics have been developed to provide comfort both seated and standing over long distances, while the bodywork and aerodynamics are intended to balance rider protection with freedom of movement and fast reactions.
