We’ve heard of wing mirrors but Honda’s got the idea fitting bikes with mirror wings to cash in on the fast-growing trend for downforce-creating aerodynamics on sportsbikes. A new patent application reveals it’s is out to grab the intellectual property on an idea of using a bike’s mirrors to create downforce, taking its inspiration from the upturned wingtips that improve the efficiency of modern airliners. The concave upper surface and convex lower give a downforce-creating wing shape.
