BIKE FEST OZ 2023 | TWEED COAST | EVENTS

Early bird bookings are now open for Bike Fest Oz, the event billed as Australia's answer to Sturgis

Bike Fest Oz 2023 is shaping up to be Australias version of Sturgis or Daytona Bike Week. Earlybird deals that includes entry to key events and preferential choice of accommodation are now available.

This includes entry to the Rolling Thunder Parade, which kicks off the five-day festival from 16 August with an escorted, celebrity-packed ride from Tweed Heads, NSW, to an as-yet unnamed destination over the border in Queensland. The $500 deposit is refundable up to 31 December and will be put towards the hotel or motel rooms chosen by the depositors.

While the rally usually attracts around 500,000 people, officials estimate that more than 250,000 people may still show up to this year's festival despite the coronavirus pandemic. Because of the demand were experiencing, and the fact that the parade and a few other selected official BFO 2023 will be limited-ticket events, we have decided to offer early-bird deals, so anyone paying up front will get a spot on the parade and weve already had strong response to lock in the accommodation deals,” says festival promoter Chris Beattie, a former AMCN editor.

Other events that will have limited tickets include the official BFO poker run, beach rides on a yet-to-be announced section of relatively unused beach, the official Bike Fest Oz gala opening ball, including the announcement of the BFO grand marshal for 2023, and a concert and party which will signal the end of the five-day event.

This will be themed to celebrate Harley-Davidsons 120th birthday, plus the official completion and closing of the inaugural Bike Fest Oz. Organisers are in the process of luring a very special internationally famous bike-riding celebrity to close the festival with an appropriate rock nroll soundtrack, including a final fireworks spectacular. Organisers will also announce the theme for Bike Fest Oz! 2024 at the concert.

Because we have to pay for various permits, police attendance, security, first-aid staff and other things associated with the bigger BFO! official events, we have to ask for payments for entrants, plus were going to be supporting local charities and other groups out of the funds we bring in for BFO 2023,” Beattie says. But there will be plenty of other free-entry events that well be announcing that will be included in the five days of BFO 2023.”
