Anstey back after winning cancer battle! | NEWS

Bruce Anstey confirmed for 2019 Classic TT

Kiwi Bruce Anstey will make a popular return to competition next month, after being forced to miss the 2018 season to battle cancer for the second time.
The laid-back 50-year-old will line up for the 2019 Classic TT, contesting the Lightweight category onboard a Padgett’s Honda-prepared RS250 and will be looking to add to his six podiums – three of which were wins – in the classic event.
With his health back,, there’s little doubt the 13-time Isle of Man TT winner is still fast; the last time Anstey raced around the 37.75-mile Mountain Course was at the 2017 Classic event when he became the first-ever rider to lap the course on a 250cc at more than 120mph, re-writing the history books with a 120.475mph lap.
Anstey will be joined at in this year’s Padgett’s squad by two-time Classic TT podium finisher Conor Cummins and future star Davey Todd. The event kicks off on Saturday 17 August and runs through to Monday 26 August.
