X-TRAIL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS TO BUDAPEST | SPORT

Championship leader Toni Bou arrives in Budapest for round three

This Sunday, the Lazslo Papp centre of Budapest is set to host round three of the X-Trial World Championship with Repsol Honda Team ace, Toni Bou, currently holding sway over the overall competition standings. Bou claimed victory in both the world championship events held thus far, first at X-Trial’s maiden outing to La Reunion (France) and subsequently in Rennes (France).

“After the two trials of this championship already been held, we will try to continue staying focused and carry on with the good work so as to continue the success” Bou said. “It will not be easy, because as we have been seeing, rivals always make it difficult, but I like the trial in Budapest and I am very motivated to do my best again.”

Bou did not disappoint the French crowd at round two, turning out a fine display of riding prowess in front of the Rennes spectators in Brittany. The Repsol Honda Team rider made it through the first five sections of the heats as the superior rider, picking up just four marks. In the second round, with the top rider from each group qualifying directly for the final, Bou once again gave a masterful showing, collecting 7 marks in the process.

The grand finale saw Toni Bou overcome the six sections with a total of 15 points ahead of the 27 accrued by arch-rival Adam Raga, to seal a second season victory.
