Ruthless Razgatlioglu outclasses Bulega in Superpole Race to tighten title chase

Toprak Razgatlioglu took another commanding victory in the WorldSBK championship with his tenth win at the Most circuit, despite early resistance from Nicolo Bulega. Bulega got the holeshot from pole and briefly led the race, while Danilo Petrucci pounced on Razgatlioglu in the shuffle through Turn 1. Toprak was having none of it and quickly muscled his way back around Petrucci at Turn 17, setting off in pursuit of the Ducati rider up front.

Behind them, Alvaro Bautista made a storming start, picking up multiple spots to slot into sixth, while a frantic midfield battle brewed. Sam Lowes defended hard against Bautista in the early stages, while Iker Lecuona and Alex Lowes each stalked close behind.

By Lap 3, Razgatlioglu had caught and passed Bulega with a classic outbraking move into Turn 13. While Bulega launched a counter-attack into Turn 1 on multiple occasions, Toprak showcased his signature braking prowess and composure under pressure. One of Bulega’s lunges saw him run wide through the T1 chicane and cut the track, requiring him to give up time to Razgatlioglu in accordance with the rules.

Further back, Sam Lowes was giving Petrucci all he could handle in the fight for third, with Bautista clawing back time rapidly on Lecuona. Petrucci held firm for the final podium position, once again the best of the rest behind the dominant two championship protagonists.

Behind the podium trio, Alvaro Bautista edged out Iker Lecuona in a last-lap move to claim fifth, salvaging solid points after an early charge and some spirited battles. Lecuona’s sixth marked an impressive ride for the Honda rider, showing renewed form. Alex Lowes followed close behind in seventh, while Xavi Vierge came home in eighth. Locatelli slipped by Jonathan Rea in the final stages as well, dropping the Yamaha veteran to tenth, while Remy Gardner struggled to replicate last year’s form at this circuit, finishing a distant 15th.

While Bulega pushed hard and kept the pressure on, Razgatlioglu was too strong, eventually pulling out a two-second margin to take yet another win for BMW. This sets the stage for a potential whitewash in Most, contrasting sharply with the Ducati redwash at the previous Cremona round.

With this result, Toprak Razgatlioglu closes the championship gap to Nicolo Bulega, now sitting second overall with 201 points to Bulega’s 227. Alvaro Bautista holds third with 141, while Danilo Petrucci’s consistency earns him fourth on 130. Andrea Locatelli rounds out the top five with 119 in a season that continues to twist with every round.
