Hook and Honda poised for strong Suzuka result | SPORT

Reigning world champ poised for strong Suzuka result.

Australia’s reigning Endurance World Champion Josh Hook and his TSR Honda squad have ended the official three-day Suzuka 8 Hours test well placed and fourth fastest ahead of the 28 July event. It was the Red Bull Honda squad of Stefan Bradl, Takumi Takahashi and Ryuichi Kiyonari who dominated the test’s timesheets, however, topping all three days of testing in both wet and dry conditions. The factory Yamaha team, once again made up of Katsuyuki Nakasuga, Alex Lowes and Michael Van der Mark was the only Yamaha showing in a Honda top four, putting their YZF-R1 ahead of the Musashi RT HARC-Pro Honda team of Ryo Mizuno, Xavi Forés and Dominique Aegerter. Aussie Broc Parkes’ Yamaha Austria Racing Team was sixth quickest, reigning Aussie Superbike Champion Troy Herfoss tested for Moriwaki Honda squad alongside Yuki Takahashi and Tomoyoshi Koyama, while ASBK title rival Josh Waters will line-up as part of the MotoMap SWAT Suzuki squad alongside Nobuatsu Aoki and Dan Linfoot.
