Toby Price wins Stage 13 of Dakar Rally | SPORT

Two days after his first victory on the rally, Toby Price has grabbed a second success on the way to Córdoba on completion of a stage he has led from almost start to finish.

Aussie Dakar hero Toby Price threw everything he could muster at the gruelling Dakar rally to claim victory in stage 13. However, it will be fellow Red Bull KTM rider Matthias Walkner who will take a 20-minute lead into the final day of the Dakar Rally. His fourth position on today’s penultimate stage all but securing the overall win for the Austrian.

Price, who won the Dakar in 2016, held off home-town favourite Kevin Benavides to win stage 13 from San Juan to Cordoba in Argentina.

Walkner finished more than 11 minutes behind Price on the day but will take a lead of over 20 minutes into Saturday’s final 284-kilometre ride around Cordoba. The lead should be good enough to allow Walkner to cruise to his maiden Dakar title after finishing second in last year’s event.
