‘Thriller Miller’ poised to become just the 10th rider ever to reach the double-century milestone

Jack Miller is set to make his 200th MotoGP start this Sunday at the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Grand Prix of Brazil, becoming only the 10th rider in history to reach the milestone. The landmark comes as MotoGP returns to Brazil for the first time since 2004, with Goiânia welcoming the premier class for the first time since 1989.

Miller made is MotoGP debut with LCR Honda in 2015 before moving to Marc VDS Honda for 2016 and 2017, where he claimed a standout maiden premier-class win in the wet at Assen in 2016. He switched to Ducati machinery with Pramac Racing in 2018, stepping up to the factory Ducati Lenovo Team for 2021 and 2022, scoring two wins in 2021 at Jerez and Le Mans, and adding another victory in 2022 at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Miller then moved to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing for 2023 and 2024, where he scored a double podium at Jerez in 2023 with P3 in the Sprint and P3 in the main race, before joining Prima Pramac Yamaha in 2025 as part of Yamaha’s expanded effort.

For Prima Pramac Yamaha, the weekend represents another important step in developing and understanding its new package. With the circuit new to all riders in the current field, track time is at a premium as the team looks to build knowledge in conditions that are, initially at least, the same for everyone. Miller and teammate Toprak Razgatlıoğlu will both be discovering the circuit’s demands for the first time, while continuing the work from the opening round.

Miller is eager to get back on track and add to the team’s growing database, particularly with tyre management expected to play a key role.

“I’m really motivated to get back on track and continue the work we started. It’s a new circuit for everyone, which makes it interesting because it gives us all a bit of a reset. We’ve done as much homework as we can over the past weeks, but until you actually ride the track, you never really know what to expect. The key will be to take it step by step, focus on the set-up and keep building our understanding of the bike. We also know tyre management is going to be important, especially after what we saw in the last race, so that’s definitely something we’ll be keeping a close eye on throughout the weekend,” Miller said.

Weather could add another layer of unpredictability, with rain forecast across all three days, increasing the importance of adaptability and clear feedback as Prima Pramac Yamaha continues its progression through the early stages of the season. For Miller, it all sets the stage for a landmark weekend, with his 200th MotoGP start arriving at a circuit returning to the championship after decades away.
