Fierce podium battle sees Arenas take second ahead of Canet, Agius fights back to P13 from 22nd on lap 1
The Moto2 race exploded into action with a strong start from Diogo Moreira, who led into turn one. Manuel Gonzalez quickly slotted into third, while Senna Agius dropped to 22nd. Aron Canet made an early move on Gonzalez at Scarperia to take third, and by lap two, Öncü had drafted past Moreira for the lead with Canet following closely. Moments later, Canet passed Moreira for second, kicking off a fierce tussle among the front group.

Canet briefly took the lead on lap three but ran wide, giving Moreira the chance to dive back through. Albert Arenas made a stunning charge, overtaking Canet, Öncü, and finally Moreira with a bold move at turn 10 to lead by lap’s end. As Moreira ran wide on lap four, Canet and Gonzalez moved into podium spots behind Arenas.
The lead kept changing hands as Canet passed Arenas on lap five, only for Arenas to retake the lead the next lap. Öncü had a big scare, dropping to seventh. By lap seven, the top four—Gonzalez, Arenas, Canet, and Moreira—had distanced the field. Gonzalez then surged to the front with a move into Arrabbiata 1.

Arenas reclaimed the lead again on lap eight, but Gonzalez responded into San Donato on lap nine. Agius, meanwhile, began his recovery, climbing to 15th by lap ten. Moreira passed Canet again on lap twelve, as both began falling away from the top two by over a second.
By lap fourteen, Gonzalez was starting to pull clear, while Canet and Moreira began battling hard for third. Their fight intensified through the final laps, swapping places repeatedly and making contact into San Donato and Scarperia. Their fierce duel allowed Celestino Vietti to close in rapidly.

On the final lap, a final clash between Moreira and Canet saw both run wide, with Vietti looking to capitalise. Gonzalez crossed the line for a commanding win, his smooth style shining at Mugello. Arenas took a strong second, and Canet just held off Moreira and Vietti for third. Öncü finished sixth, followed by Guevara, Alonso, Roberts, and Ramirez.
Agius recovered well to finish 13th, impressive after running second-last early on, but still short of his expectations.

Manuel Gonzalez extends his championship lead to 143 points after this race, pulling ahead of Aron Canet, who sits second on 134. Diogo Moreira strengthens his third place with 103 points, while Senna Agius maintains 6th in the standings on 80 points.
