Piaggio, the pioneer of tilting three-wheelers, is working on an entirely new front-end that could slash production costs. The key is a new suspension arrangement that manages to contain the front hub, spring and damper, along with a brake disc and caliper, all within the diameter of the front wheel rim.

The patent images clearly show how simple the frame holding this front suspension can be, thus reducing the cost to produce it.
