More power, updated electronics and a revised frame make updated superbike 0.4 seconds a lap quicker in testing
Ducati has pulled the covers off the 2027 Panigale V4, with the latest update aimed squarely at making the bike faster and easier to use on track without changing the basic recipe.

The headline claim is a 0.4-second average lap time gain at Italy’s Vallelunga circuit compared to the previous model. Ducati says that comes from a mix of engine, chassis and electronic changes rather than any one major overhaul.
Power from the Desmosedici Stradale V4 is up by 2hp to 218hp in Euro5+ trim. Ducati has reworked the intake, exhaust and lubrication systems to improve airflow and reduce losses, with the biggest gains arriving between 12,000 and 14,000rpm.

There is also a higher rev ceiling in second through fifth gears, with the limiter now stretched to 15,000rpm. Combined with taller final gearing, Ducati says the new setup lets riders hold each gear longer and cut down on shifts. At Vallelunga, that apparently means two fewer gear changes per lap.
For riders chasing more track performance, Ducati will also offer an Akrapovič Full Racing Exhaust PRO. It adds a claimed 11hp and 7Nm while trimming 6.6kg.
Chassis updates centre on a new Front Frame with 12 per cent less lateral stiffness. In plain terms, Ducati is chasing better feel and more grip at big lean angles, especially on corner entry and through the middle of the turn.

The gearing change also effectively shortens the wheelbase by 8mm, which should help the bike flick side to side a bit easier. Ducati has also fitted new clip-ons on the V4 S, raised by 10mm to give the rider a little more leverage under braking and during direction changes.
On the electronics side, Ducati has introduced Dynamic Engine Brake, which replaces the old Engine Brake Control system. It uses Ducati’s vehicle observer software to vary engine braking based on rear tyre load, with the aim of making the bike calmer and more predictable into corners.
Also new is Race Brake Control, which increases rear wheel involvement under braking. Ducati says the combination helps riders brake later, turn in quicker and get back on the gas earlier.

The Panigale V4 S also joins Ducati’s Factory Made program for the first time. Buyers will be able to spec the bike with 11 colour options, including five pulled from Lamborghini’s Ad Personam catalogue, along with two liveries and a selection of factory-fitted homologated parts.
That means items such as brake packages, adjustable rearsets and an STM dry clutch can be fitted before the bike leaves Borgo Panigale, rather than as dealer or aftermarket add-ons later.
European deliveries are due to start in March 2027, with North American bikes to follow from April. Other markets will roll out after that.
