Five Stunt Evo | RIDING GEAR + EQUIPMENT

Having cool hands goes a long way to feeling cool all over. Mesh gloves are great for ventilation but offer limited protection.

With summer on our doorstep and the mercury inching ever upwards, it’s time to swap those winter warmers for something cool and comfortable that won’t sacrifice protection.

We’re not here to pass judgement on those who ride through the warmer months in shorts and T-shirt. Hey, if you fancy becoming a big flesh crayon as you slide along a hot road surface, that’s your choice. But for those who prefer to keep the gear on, staying cool while remaining well protected can be a challenge.

The lightweight urban-style Stunt Evo glove from Five is a top-shelf product that protects and cools.

The palm is made from a combination of leather and clarino with a covering of silicon to assist with grip while a carbon-fibre palm pad provides additional protection.

The top of the glove is also leather with a PU knuckle protection shell, and the air vents and use of spandex between the fingers help keep your hands cool. The short cuff design has a Velcro system that ensures the glove doesn’t feel like it’s about to slip off.

Five only produces gloves, and they do a bloody good job of it. The 2017 summer will be my third wearing the Stunt Evo glove, and they still look brand new and remain as comfortable as the day I took them out of the box.

The Five Stunt range of gloves also includes the Stunt Evo Airflow (for increased wind across your knuckles) and the Stunt Evo Replica.
