Petrucci retains factory seat | MOTOGP | SPORT

Ducati Corse has confirmed that Danilo Petrucci will stay in red in 2020.

In the lead-up to this weekend’s German MotoGP, the team made the expected confirmation that he will race a GP20 alongside Andrea Dovizioso next season.
Petrucci took his first MotoGP win at Mugello last month and backed it up with a succession of good results, including two third places in Le Mans and Barcelona. He had been seen to be in competition with Pramac Ducati rider Jack Miller to retain his factory seat. Miller is expected to be confirmed for 2020 with the Pramac team soon.
Said Petrucci; “I am very happy to continue with Ducati for one more season. It was my goal since I started this adventure and also because, from the beginning, I felt a great harmony with the team. In this first part of the championship, we were able to progressively improve our performance, winning two podiums and one victory. Renewing before the summer break gives me even more serenity and confidence for the future.”
Petrucci sits third in the championship as the championship goes into Sunday’s race in the Sachsenring, eight points behind Dovizioso.
