Indian Racing star has his win officially stripped, Wyman all but assured of Baggers championship victory
Australian star Troy Herfoss has been disqualified from Sunday’s Mission King Of The Baggers race two at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course after his S&S/Indian Motorcycle Challenger was found in breach of Section 2.3.10 of the MotoAmerica AMA Road Racing Series FIM North America Championship 2025 Regulations.
Herfoss initially took the checkered flag in Mansfield, Ohio, on August 17, but post-race inspection determined the aft-most section of the machine’s main frame was filled with approximately 3.4 pounds of rigid epoxy that the team identified as ballast. The use of epoxy as ballast was ruled non-compliant with the technical regulations.
Herfoss appealed the disqualification. However, the FIM North America Appeal Stewards upheld the original decision of the FIM North America Stewards, denying the appeal.
The sanction states:
“Aft most section of machine main frame is filled with approximately 3.4 pounds of rigid epoxy. Team stated that the epoxy material is ballast. The use of epoxy does not comply with section 2.3.10.a/b/c of the Technical Regulations.”
With Herfoss removed from the results, Sunday’s race two classification is now official, with each rider moving up one position. Harley-Davidson x Dynojet Factory Racing’s Kyle Wyman has been declared the winner, S&S/Indian Motorcycle’s Tyler O’Hara is credited with second place, and SDI Racing’s Cameron Petersen is credited with third.
