Thrilling battle sees Wyman victorious by just 0.056 of a second across the finish line
Race 2 of the Mission King of the Baggers championship at Daytona International Speedway produced a tight contest, with Kyle Wyman (Harley-Davidson) edging out Troy Herfoss (Indian Motorcycle) by just 0.056 seconds, completing a perfect sweep of the weekend.
From pole position, Wyman led the charge into Turn 1, under pressure from Herfoss, Loris Baz, and Tyler O’Hara on factory Indian Motorcycles. Herfoss, determined to make up for his DNF in Race 1, quickly took the lead in the International Horseshoe, executing a bold outside pass on Wyman. Despite battling flu-like symptoms, Wyman refused to back down, tailing Herfoss closely as they exited onto the banking. Meanwhile, Baz slotted into third place, keeping the leading duo in sight.
With Herfoss leading, Wyman remained in the draft, strategically planning his next move. Baz, sitting third, didn’t let the leaders gain too much ground, knowing the Daytona draft could play a deciding role in the final laps. Further behind, Rocco Landers (Harley-Davidson) and Hayden Gillim (Harley-Davidson) battled for top-five positions, alongside Tyler O’Hara, who maintained fourth place. Meanwhile, Bradley Smith disappointingly crashed out after finishing second in Race 1.

James Rispoli (Harley-Davidson) also crashed, ending his chances of a top finish. As the white flag waved, Herfoss still led, but Wyman stayed glued to his rear wheel, clearly setting up for a last-lap slingshot move. Herfoss then slowed to let Wyman past in order to take advantage of the draft on the final lap. Baz saw an opportunity, but the leading duo had already built a slight gap by the time they entered the chicane for the final time. Wyman exited the chicane perfectly, carrying maximum speed onto the banking. Herfoss was in the draft and looked set to overtake, but as they approached the start-finish line the Harley-Davidson rider snatched a last gasp victory.
It was a picture-perfect Daytona finish, with Herfoss coming within inches of victory but settling for second place. Behind them, Baz rounded out the podium, delivering a strong performance in his first King of the Baggers event of 2025. Tyler O’Hara took fourth, while Landers secured the top-five finish for Harley-Davidson.
With this race win, Wyman now leads the championship with a perfect 50 points, while Herfoss sits second on 28 points, and Smith, despite his crash, holds onto third with 26 points. Harley-Davidson dominated Daytona, but Herfoss, Baz, and O’Hara showed their Indian Challengers certainly have the speed to take the fight to them.
The next round takes place from March 28 – 30 at the Circuit of the Americas to coincide with second round of MotoGP. Last year Herfoss split the wins with Wyman, setting the scene for another close duel.
