Wyman cruises to victory, Bradley Smith second on debut, Herfoss crashes challenging for the lead

The 2025 KOTB racing season kicked off with a dominant performance by Kyle Wyman on the #33 Harley-Davidson. The race began with a strong launch from Kyle Wyman, who immediately took the inside line and led the pack into Turn 1. Chaos ensued behind as James Rispoli and Loris Baz tangled and went down, with both riders unable to continue. Troy Herfoss was closing on Wyman, setting the fastest lap of the race, but on lap three he also slid off the track, promoting Bradley Smith into second place and Cameron Petersen into third. Herfoss remounted, but he would lose nearly a minute extricating the big Indian Challenger from the airfence even with the help of marshalls.

Herfoss had excellent pace but made a mistake on lap 3, falling out of contention

As the race settled, Kyle Wyman maintained a commanding lead, while Bradley Smith and Cameron Petersen battled for the remaining podium spots. Smith, on the #38 Harley-Davidson, kept Wyman within sight but couldn’t close the gap significantly. Petersen, making his debut on the #45 SDI Racing Indian, held steady in third, showcasing impressive pace and consistency. Further back, Kyle Ohnsorg (#78) and Jake Lewis (#85) engaged in a fierce battle for fourth place, with Ohnsorg eventually edging out Lewis. Meanwhile, Rocco Landers (#97) on the RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson fought valiantly to stay in the top seven.

Wyman’s teammate Bradley Smith finished second in his first Baggers race

As the laps wound down, Kyle Wyman continued to dominate, maintaining a steady pace and crossing the finish line to take the checkered flag. His victory earned him the maximum 25 points and an early lead in the championship standings. Bradley Smith secured second place, 2.602 seconds behind his teammate, while Cameron Petersen rounded out the podium in third. Further down the order, Kyle Ohnsorg (#78) crossed the line in fourth, followed by Jake Lewis (#85) in fifth. Tyler O’Hara (#29) and Rocco Landers (#97) completed the top seven, with Herfoss crossing the line in 8th.
