ROKiT BMW star edges rival Nicolo Bulega by just 0.119 seconds as home riders shine

Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) beat the late push of his great championship rival Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) to claim the Superpole prize at Donington – albeit not quite at track best pace. The margin of ‘victory’ from Toprak to Nicolo was 0.119 seconds.

Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) headed up the rankings until the last minute, but still took a front row start at his home round, in third position.

Jonathan Rea (Pata Maxus Yamaha) managed to jump up the order right at the end of Superpole, finishing fourth overall. Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team Ducati) and Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha) will join Rea on the second row, after qualifying fifth and sixth respectively.

Ryan Vickers (MotoCorsa Racing Ducati) used his local track knowledge to the full to finish seventh quickest, following on his strong form from day one.

Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati) was eighth fastest, with two more Ducati riders – Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati) and Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) completing the top ten in a 24 rider field.
