Guevara edges home favourite by 0.018s as Q2 places are decided
Izan Guevara ended Moto2 Friday practice on top, edging Senna Agius by just 0.018s in a crucial session run in hot and windy conditions.
With warmer weather and stronger winds making improvements difficult, the final 10 minutes proved decisive as the field switched to soft tyres for one last push. Agius briefly went fastest with a superb lap, but Guevara responded late to snatch P1 with a 1:30.01.
David Alonso finished third, ahead of Dani Holgado and Filip Salac, while championship leader Manuel Gonzalez secured a safe passage to Q2 in eighth.
There was also late drama, with Ayumu Sasaki crashing at Turn 10 and Jose Antonio Rueda going down at Miller Corner, bringing out yellow flags before the final attempts.
