Multi-year deal locks in backing for MotoGP’s new Australian era

MotoGP has confirmed Red Bull as the title sponsor of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix as the championship prepares for its move to Adelaide in 2027.

Under a new multi-year agreement, the event will be known as the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia, with the energy drink giant already locked in as title partner for the inaugural Adelaide race in 2027 and again in 2028.

The announcement is another major step in the build-up to MotoGP’s new city-based Australian event, which will run from 12 to 14 November 2027 and mark the beginning of a new chapter for premier class motorcycle racing in this country.

MotoGP says the partnership is designed to help establish Adelaide as one of the standout destinations on the championship calendar, with Red Bull’s backing expected to play a major role in fan engagement, entertainment and city-wide activations across race week.

Set to be the penultimate round of the 2027 MotoGP World Championship, the Adelaide race is expected to arrive at a crucial point in the season, potentially giving Australian fans a front-row seat to title-deciding battles.

MotoGP Deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta said Australia remained one of the championship’s most important markets and that Red Bull was a natural fit for the new-look event.

“Australia is one of MotoGP’s most passionate and important markets, and we’re delighted to welcome Red Bull as title sponsor as we begin an exciting new chapter in Adelaide in 2027,” Ezpeleta said.

“The inaugural Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia in Adelaide will be a landmark moment for MotoGP. The new city circuit provides an incredible opportunity to bring the sport into the heart of the city and create a spectacular experience for fans, teams and riders alike.

“Red Bull has an unrivalled track record in motorsport and shares our ambition to deliver world-class events and unforgettable fan experiences. They are the perfect partner as we build the future of the Australian Grand Prix together.”

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas described the deal as a major win for the state and a strong endorsement of Adelaide’s newest global sporting event.

“Red Bull is one of the most recognisable brands in the world, and having them on board as the title sponsor of Adelaide’s first MotoGP Grand Prix is a huge endorsement for this event and a massive coup for South Australia,” Malinauskas said.

“This is exactly the kind of global partnership we want to attract. One that brings enormous international exposure, creates excitement and helps establish Adelaide as a must-visit destination on the MotoGP calendar.

“We’re building something special here, and with Red Bull and MotoGP teaming up, we’re gearing up for an incredible first race in 2027.”

For MotoGP, the deal strengthens its commercial push around one of the most ambitious additions to the modern calendar. For Australian fans, it is another sign that the Adelaide round is being positioned as a major motorsport and entertainment spectacle by organisors.
