A cruiser appears to be the first 650cc variant to come off Royal Enfield’s Interceptor/Continental platform. We’ve got spy images of several prototypes of the Royal Enfield 650 cruiser being tested in Europe that look almost production-ready. Prototypes have also been seen in India.
Indian moto-journalists are predicting it will be called the Super Meteor and say it will go on sale worldwide this year. While some aspects of the design, such as the solo seat and low-rider stance, hark back to the Concept KX, revealed at EICMA in 2018, the radical styling has been dumped.
It could become the first RE model to get an upside-down fork, with a conventional fork as an option, but has twin rear shocks, not the KX’s monoshock, and instrumentation that seems to be a development of that available on the Meteor 350.
