Get ready to eat dirt (literally) at Australia’s muddiest, sweatiest and most gloriously chaotic enduro

Lock in 4 May for yet another edition of Australia’s Muddiest Enduro! Not only is it the muddiest, but probably one of the oldest enduros in Australia, now in its 54th year.

If mud is not your thing, no need to panic, there’s plenty of hard-pack, single-trail with rocks then more open trails to keep you moving.

The amount of mud is up to Mother Nature and how long the NT wet season runs for – however, there are always plenty of marshals stationed around the 12km course to lend a hand when the going gets too tough.

Typical conditions in the crazy Kamfari Enduro

The four-hour race is held about an hour’s drive south of Darwin at Cox Peninsula, with scrutineering taking place at the Noonamah Tavern just south of Humpty Doo on the Friday evening – so get your entry in now.

The shotgun start is at 10am, with bikes starting in one line with a dead engine, Le Mans-style, so an electric leg on your bike is a definite advantage.

Quads get a separate track and will start 10 minutes after the motorcycles.

Spectators are well catered for, with food stalls and a bar to kick back in.

Chris Warwick is a multiple winner

Local Humpty Doo legend Chris Warwick will defend his No.1 plate and hopes to take home yet another set of buffalo horns. He has four outright wins, so he knows all too well what it takes to triumph in the extreme heat and humidity of the Top End.

This epic race is hosted by the Darwin Motorcycle Club. Check out Facebook.com/groups/darwinmotorcycleclub for all the info you’ll need.
