MARQUEZ INJURED IN HEAVY CRASH | MOTOGP | SPORT

The Repsol Honda team has reported that championship leader Marc Marquez was taken to Leoben Hospital to have his shoulder checked following a heavy accident during today’s third free practice session for the Austrian MotoGP.

Latest reports indicate Marquez has been cleared to race despite dislocating his shoulder.

Video of the incident shows Marquez getting out of shape heading into turn three. The Spaniards quick thinking saw him avoid teammate Dani Pedrosa before being thrown onto the track surface

The Repsol Honda star had made swift progress up to third behind the factory Ducatis, but then got out of shape under braking for Turn 3 – almost clipping team-mate Dani Pedrosa, before being thrown over the handlebars and hard into the track surface.
