Aussie Mike Jones, pictured here with Troy Bayliss who is behind the DesmoSport Ducati team, has joined the WorldSBK squad for 2016 and will be running as a wildcard in both the Superbike races
This weekend, as well as beginning his campaign to retain his Australian Superbike Championship title after winning the ASBK in 2015.
Despite a tough two-day WSBK test, in which Jones could only complete around 20 decent laps of the Island circuit due to electrical problems with the Ducati, he was still able to secure the 16th best time overall.
With parts being brought in from Ducati in Italy over the next two days, there’s a good chance Jones and the DesmoSport team will rank a little higher on the time sheets by the weekend.
