Oli Bayliss swept both Quattro Group British Supersport races at Brands Hatch’s centenary weekend, extending his winning streak to three straight
Oli Bayliss has claimed his first British Supersport double, winning both races at Brands Hatch aboard the Macadam Triumph Factory Racing Street Triple 765 RS to notch up three victories in a row.
Oli rolled into the circuit’s centenary celebration weekend riding a wave of momentum, having already banked podiums and wins at Knockhill and Snetterton earlier in the campaign.
Only his third outing on the Triumph, Bayliss wasted little time coming to terms with the tricky Grand Prix layout at the Kent venue. The number 68 wrapped up the opening day in seventh, then hauled the triple-powered machine onto the front row for Saturday’s Sprint Race.
Conditions were near-perfect for the 12-lap sprint, and Bayliss launched hard to grab third at Turn 1 before picking off Luke Stapleford at Turn 2 — only to be shuffled back to third a lap later. Undeterred, he set about carving forward again, first disposing of Jack Kennedy at Hawthorns before muscling past Ben Currie on the main straight at the start of lap four.
With clear track ahead, Bayliss looked to break away, but a spirited chasing pack made life difficult. He dropped back to third before reclaiming the lead on lap ten, then reeled off back-to-back fastest laps to seal the win and pole position for Sunday’s Feature Race.
The feature proved another classic Brands Hatch scrap. From pole, Bayliss emerged from Paddock Hill Bend in second before tumbling to fourth as a ferocious battle erupted among nine riders. He held station until a Stapleford mistake split the field, though it soon reformed into a seven-bike freight train — with Bayliss right in the mix.
The leading fight flared again on lap 13, Stapleford and Bayliss trading blows. His rival barged through at Paddock Hill Bend, but a slip handed the Triumph rider the lead back. Bayliss then slipped to third on the run to Druids before another Stapleford error let the Macadam Triumph back through.
With two laps remaining, Bayliss grabbed the lead at Sheene Curve, passing Kennedy — who cut back when Bayliss ran wide onto the green paint in the closing stages. Unfazed, Bayliss dived back underneath to repeat his earlier move, hanging on for a second win of the weekend and a third straight aboard the Street Triple 765 RS.
The double haul lifts Bayliss to fifth in the standings and trims the gap to 72 points, while Wadsworth departs Brands Hatch 14th overall.
The Quattro Group British Supersport Championship resumes from 31 July to 2 August for round six of the 2026 season, with the series returning to Oulton Park for the second time this year.
