Aussie brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence shine for Honda at Thunder Valley
Jett Lawrence continued his incredible form in the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, taking a dominant 1-1 win in the 450 class at Round 3 at Thunder Valley Motocross Park in Colorado. The Australian star remains undefeated in both motos and overalls so far this season, and his performance aboard the Honda HRC Progressive CRF450RWE further cemented his position atop the championship standings.

Once again, it was a Lawrence family affair at the front, with older brother Hunter Lawrence also making his presence felt. The Queensland natives stormed off the line together in the first 450 moto, with Hunter grabbing the holeshot and Jett settling into second. Jett made a quick move into the lead on lap one and controlled the race from the front under pressure from Hunter and veteran Eli Tomac.
Hunter was having his best moto of the Pro Motocross season, holding off Tomac for nearly the entire race before a small tip-over on the final lap cost him a podium spot. He eventually crossed the line in fourth, a result he matched in the second moto. This gave him fifth overall for the round—his best finish of the motocross year so far.

Jett, meanwhile, looked untouchable. After starting sixth in moto two, he methodically worked his way into the lead before the halfway point and stretched out a comfortable gap by the checkered flag. The win marked his sixth straight moto victory in the 2025 championship, and his third consecutive overall win. The Thunder Valley triumph also gave him his 18th career 450-class Pro Motocross overall win in just 19 starts, tying him with Kent Howerton for eighth on the all-time list.
Hunter’s consistent 4-4 moto performances elevated him to fifth in the championship standings, while Jett now holds a 25-point lead up front—an entire moto’s worth of breathing space—as the series shifts east toward High Point Raceway.

Lawrence’s outstanding form in Pro Motocross is even more impressive given the adversity he faced earlier this year. Coming into 2025 as the defending 450SX Supercross Champion, Jett had high expectations. He started strong with a fantastic win at Anaheim 2 on January 25, navigating treacherous muddy conditions with trademark control and confidence. But just one round later, during Round 4 in Glendale on February 1, disaster struck when he tore his ACL—an injury that sidelined him for months of the Supercross season.

Crucially, the timing of his recovery aligned perfectly with the opening of the outdoor season in late May, allowing a healthy and refocused Jett to transition directly into Pro Motocross competition against championship winning MX superstars like Eli Tomac and Cooper Webb. Since his return to competition, he’s immediately resumed his domination of the best MX riders the world has to offer.
Jett Lawrence – “It was a good day. The track was difficult—it definitely challenged you with the ruts, and it was all about trying to stay patient. But overall, it was a good weekend. Going 1-1 felt great, and I’m looking forward to High Point next weekend.”
Hunter Lawrence – “Good progression with the team this past week—we’re definitely a lot closer to the front, so that was positive. I’m kind of frustrated with myself though; I had a little crash on the last lap of the first moto, after battling with J-Law and AP the whole race, so that was a bummer. In the second moto, I just kept losing my rhythm. Every time I tried to rally and find it again, I struggled a bit more. A 4-4 for fifth overall is a little unlucky, but I’m looking forward to High Point.”
