Phillip Island’s finale will take place in the opening round, a popular European track makes a return, and China appears on the WorldSBK calendar for the first time ever
WorldSBK has unveiled its provisional 2027 calendar, confirming a 12 round season across nine countries and three continents, with several major talking points including a final visit to Phillip Island, the return of Valencia and a championship ending first at Shanghai.

The season will open in Australia on 19 to 21 February, with Phillip Island once again hosting WorldSBK and WorldSSP. The traditional curtain raiser will carry extra weight in 2027, with it set to be the championship’s last appearance at the iconic Victorian circuit before the Australian Round moves to The Bend in 2028. An official pre season test for WorldSBK and WorldSSP will be held at Phillip Island on 15 and 16 February.
Europe takes over in March, with Portimao hosting the second round on 19 to 21 March. The Portuguese venue will also mark the start of the WorldSPB and WorldWCR seasons, with both classes set to test there on 15 March.
One of the biggest changes to next year’s schedule is the return of Valencia. Circuit Ricardo Tormo is back on the WorldSBK calendar for 2 to 4 April, hosting the third round of the season and the second European event. The Spanish venue previously featured on the schedule from 2000 to 2010 and is known for its stadium style layout, which gives fans wide views of the circuit. All four classes will be on track across the weekend.
Valencia joins MotorLand Aragón as one of two Spanish rounds on the 2027 calendar, while Jerez drops off due to ongoing renovation works.

After Valencia, the championship continues through a familiar run of European venues. Assen hosts the next round in April, followed by Aragón in May. Most and Misano then feature in June before Donington Park closes out the first half of the season on 9 to 11 July. Donington will also mark the first appearance of the WorldSPB class at the British circuit.
The championship resumes after the summer break at Magny Cours in early September, before heading to Cremona later that month. Estoril rounds out the European leg on 15 to 17 October and will also host the final round of WorldSPB’s eight round campaign.
The final headline change comes at the end of the season, with Shanghai International Circuit set to host the championship finale on 29 to 31 October. It will be the first WorldSBK round held in China and represents another major step in the series’ global expansion. The Hermann Tilke designed circuit, opened in 2004, will stage the final WorldSBK and WorldSSP races of the year.

WorldSSP will appear alongside WorldSBK at all 12 rounds in 2027, while the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship will contest six events. WorldWCR begins at Portimao, then heads to Valencia, Most and Misano before returning after the break for Magny Cours and a season finale at Cremona on 24 to 26 September.
From a farewell at Phillip Island to a long awaited return for Valencia and a new frontier in Shanghai, the 2027 WorldSBK calendar shapes as one of the championship’s most notable in recent years.
