An all-new Australian line-up will chase a place in Motocross of Nations history when Jed Beaton, Aaron Tanti and Alex Larwood lead the nation’s bid for a third straight victory at Ernee
Australia heads to Ernee for the 2026 FIM Motocross of Nations on October 3 and 4 with history in its sights, aiming to become just the fourth nation to win the iconic event three years in a row.
Only Great Britain, the United States and France have achieved an MXoN three-peat since the event began in 1947. Now the MXstore-backed Australian team has the chance to join that elite group with a fresh roster made up of Jed Beaton, Aaron Tanti and Alex Larwood.

All three riders will make their MXoN debuts for Australia after standout domestic campaigns in 2026. Yamaha teammates Beaton and Tanti finished first and second in the MX1 class of the ProMX Championship, while Honda rider Larwood charged to the MX2 crown in impressive fashion.
The task ahead will be anything but easy. Australia will not only face a vocal home crowd in France, but also a stacked international field featuring 33 countries.
Spain and The Netherlands bring serious firepower, with Guillem Farres and Jeffrey Herlings among the recently crowned FIM world motocross champions in the field. France, Belgium and Slovenia also boast deep talent, while Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and Latvia all arrive with strong credentials after top 10 finishes at last year’s MXoN in America.

Qualifying races across the Open, MXGP and MX2 classes will be held on Saturday, with the top 20 nations progressing to Sunday’s main event. Beaton will represent Australia in MXGP and carry the prestigious number one plate, while Larwood takes on MX2 duties and Tanti lines up in Open.
Each class races against the others once across the weekend, and from the six individual moto results recorded by each team, the best five scores are counted toward the final standings.
Australia has recent form at Ernee, having finished runner-up there in 2023 with Hunter Lawrence, Jett Lawrence and Dean Ferris before breaking through for back-to-back victories in 2024 and 2025 with the Lawrence brothers and Kyle Webster.

Team manager Michael Byrne said the focus was now on giving the new-look squad every chance to succeed on one of motocross’s biggest stages.
“The last two years have been incredible for Team Australia with memories that will last a lifetime,” Byrne said.
“Now, the focus is all about providing the best environment for Jed, Aaron and Alex to shine, and I’m confident they have the skill and temperament to put on an exceptional performance for Australia.
“The MXoN is a cauldron like no other, but if we stick to our guns, get our strategies right and prepare as best we can we are going to give it a real shake.”
The 2026 FIM Motocross of Nations will be broadcast on Stan Sport and MXGP TV, with Australia’s campaign once again backed by long-time supporter MXstore.
