Bold graphics, cornering tech and quickshifter headline the new ‘Slippery Sam’ themed Trident 660, priced from $14,890 rideaway

Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the 2025 Trident 660 Triple Tribute Special Edition, offering Australian riders a refreshed take on the popular middleweight roadster. Inspired by the five-time Isle of Man TT-winning ‘Slippery Sam’ Trident, the latest edition combines bold new styling with established mechanicals and rider-focused technology. The updated model is expected to land in local dealerships in limited numbers from June 2025.

The 2025 Special Edition builds upon the success of the previous Triple Tribute edition released last year, using the same core platform as the standard Trident 660. The most visible changes are cosmetic, with the new edition adopting a more aggressive graphic scheme featuring Sapphire Black bodywork accentuated by Cobalt Blue and Diablo Red highlights across the tank, tail and front bodywork. A prominent ’67’ number graphic on the tank nods to the original Trident’s racing heritage. The Diablo Red wheels are matched to a fitted belly pan and colour-coordinated fly screen, both of which are standard equipment on the special edition.

Mechanically, the Trident Triple Tribute Special Edition retains the 660cc inline three-cylinder engine used throughout the model range, producing 59.6 kW at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. Fuelling is handled by a multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection system with ride-by-wire throttle control. These figures place the Trident competitively within the middleweight segment, with the special edition only offered in full-power specification.

Riders have access to three selectable modes — Rain, Road and Sport — allowing adjustment of throttle response and traction control settings. Optimised cornering ABS and switchable traction control are standard, providing additional confidence and safety when riding in varied conditions. Triumph Shift Assist quickshifter, enabling clutchless up and down gear changes, is also included standard.

Targeted at new riders stepping up and experienced motorcyclists seeking a nimble and engaging street bike, the Trident 660 benefits from a user-friendly riding position and low 805mm seat height.
