Suzuki has added a new adventure machine to its V-Strom line-up called the 250SX, priced from $6490 ride away.

It’s light too, tipping the scales at a manageable 167kg.

The 250SX wears 10-spoke cast-aluminium wheels, with a 19-inch rim up front and a 17-inch at the rear rear, fitted with semi-block tyres that are designed to work well on both sealed and unsealed roads. There’s a claimed 205mm of ground clearance, and while the rear suspension features adjustable preload. The brake package consists a 310mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS.

The styling mimics Suzuki’s larger V-Strom models and includes the distinctive front beak synonymous with the nameplate. A compact yet functional windscreen, LED lighting package, handguards, USB outlet, rubber footpeg inserts and a helmet holder add to the utility and convenience of the V-Strom 250SX. An LCD instrument cluster shows speedo, tacho, odo, gear position, two trips, instantaneous fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, fuel level, clock and voltage.

A rear rack allows for easy attachment of luggage, and Suzuki says the bike’s sturdy subframe ensures that tandem riding and touring is a breeze.Suzuki will also offer a range of optional accessories to suit the V-Strom 250SX, including engine protection bars, top case, heated grips, fuel tank pad, wheel decals and a lower seat (805mm).
