Pricing, availability and specs revealed for Suzuki’s new midweight crossover

Suzuki has confirmed Australian pricing and availability for its new SV-7GX, with the midweight crossover due here from January 2027 and priced from $14,990 ride-away.

Suzuki are set to offer the SV-7GX in full-power, LAMS-approved and + variants for the Australian market. Both the standard SV-7GX and SV-7GX LAMS will land at $14,990 ride-away, while the better-equipped SV-7GX+ and SV-7GX+ LAMS come in at $16,490 ride-away.

The new model is built around Suzuki’s long-running 645cc liquid-cooled 90-degree DOHC V-twin, a platform the brand says has been refined over more than 25 years. In the SV-7GX, that familiar engine package is paired with a more upright, crossover-style chassis and bodywork aimed at riders wanting a machine that can cover commuting, backroad scratching and weekend touring in equal measure.

Suzuki says the SV-7GX has been developed from its proven 645cm³ V-twin platform and is intended to blend sporty road performance with everyday comfort and long-distance capability. That crossover brief is reflected in styling inspired by the GSX-S1000GX, with the SV-7GX gaining a distinctive front cowl, LED lighting signature, adjustable windscreen and upright riding position.

There is also a strong focus on rider tech. Ride-by-wire makes its way to the V-twin platform here, enabling Suzuki Drive Mode Selector on the full-power variant, along with Suzuki Traction Control System and a bi-directional quickshifter. A 4.2-inch full-colour TFT display handles the dash duties and works with Suzuki Ride Connect+, bringing turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone notifications, weather updates and ride data through a connected mobile device. There is also a USB-C charging port for everyday convenience.

On the hardware side, the SV-7GX uses a lightweight steel trellis frame, 41mm telescopic forks, adjustable rear suspension and Pirelli Angel GT II sport-touring tyres. Touring practicality is boosted by a 17.4-litre fuel tank, integrated rear carrier, knuckle covers and seating designed with both rider and passenger comfort in mind.

Suzuki is also offering an SV-7GX+ for riders chasing extra touring ability straight off the showroom floor. That version adds Suzuki Genuine Accessories including a fuel tank pad, heated grips, soft side case set, side case bracket set and touring screen.

Colour options vary slightly by variant. The SV-7GX and SV-7GX+ will be offered in Pearl Brilliant White / Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black, while the SV-7GX LAMS and SV-7GX+ LAMS will be available in Pearl Brilliant White / Metallic Triton Blue and Pearl Matte Greige.

Suzuki says the new model is aimed at broadening its reach in the growing crossover segment, while also opening the door for newer riders through the LAMS version. As a package, the SV-7GX shapes as a new direction for Suzuki’s midweight line-up, combining its well-established V-twin character with updated electronics, touring practicality and a more adventure-styled stance.
