Spielberg read like a Horror movie script for Miller and Agius, while Kelso and Roulstone fought hard for points in Moto3

Jack Miller – Sprint: P17, Race: P18
A horrid weekend from start to finish. The only crumb of comfort for Jack came in the form of the struggles of his fellow Yamaha men, who placed 15th, 16th and 17th on Sunday. Clearly this wasn’t their weekend. “Not much to be said. Disappointing to say the least. First five laps the grip was acceptable. It’s clear our bike doesn’t gel with this rear tyre construction – there’s no way to find traction. I tried everything in the race. But once we hit 80mph we start to lose load on the rear and it spins like mad. The front end of the bike is phenomenal. I was killing it on entry. But it’s a lateral slide on the rear which is causing an issue.”

Senna Agius – DNF
Another case of potential unfulfilled after Senna qualified a highly promising sixth. But a non-score was not so important when the severity of his crash was considered. Senna was sat up by another rider on the exit of Turn 2 on the first lap, causing him to fall. And Alonso Lopez (SpeedRS Boscoscuro) then ran over him in an ugly collision. “Senna crashed through no fault of his own and hit his head quite hard,” said Team Manager Jurgen Ling after the race. “The most important thing is that he is conscious and doing well so far. It could have been worse. Senna is doing well under the circumstances and hopefully he will be able to ride again soon.”

Joel Kelso – P11
A tricky weekend for Joel. First, uncertainty surrounding his future didn’t help with his current MTA KTM squad hesitant to confirm his place for 2026. Second, he is still recovering from the fractured metatarsal bone in his right foot he sustained in Czechia in mid-July. That pain didn’t help when he was quickly involved in the fight for fifth early on after qualifying tenth. But he was left frustrated to finish outside the top ten. “It wasn’t the weekend we wanted. Coming back from injury is never easy,” he said. “We just need to stay positive and I’ll be back to 100 per cent soon. I’m confident that we’ll be there at the next round.”

Jacob Roulstone – P14
After Jacob topped a one-day Moto3 test at Brno in July, hopes were high coming to Austria. But he had to rejig his set-up after a tough opening day. He pulled it back on Saturday, qualifying 12th before running with the second group early in the race. Tyre degradation prevented him from finishing higher up late on. “I knew it was going to be tough. We had a really good test after Brno but coming here I just couldn’t ride that bike on the Friday. We had to change the bike around. I believe we did so decently. I had a decent first half of the race. I could be aggressive but I just chewed the tyre up toward the end and couldn’t keep up with the boys. That was a shame.”
