Neila Clinches Thrilling Victory in Assen WorldWCR Race 2

Beatriz Neila edges Maria Herrera by just 0.173s in a dramatic four-rider battle — Aussie Tayla Relph takes home top six finish

After a race-long four rider fight Beatriz Neila (Ampito Crescent Yamaha) was almost a surprise winner of the second WorldWCR Race, as she made a late move on second place finisher, Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Racing Team). The margin of victory was just 0.173 seconds.

After Avalon Lewis (Carl Cox Motorsports) crashed out of contention Sara Sanchez (Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team) was a close third.

Off podium, and 19 seconds back, was Roberta Ponziani (Klint Forward Racing Team), with Pakita Ruis (PR46+1 Racing Team) and Aussie rider Tayla Relph (TAYCO Motorsports) completing the top six.

Relph only just held off Chloe Jones (GR Motorsport) across the line, with Astrid Madrigal (Italika Racing FIMLA), Lucie Boudesseul (GMT94-YAMAHA) and Isis Carreno (Italika Racing FIMLA) completing the top ten riders.

In the championship, after these first two races of the new season, most recent race winner Neila leads Herrera, even if both riders are on 45 points. Sanchez is third with 32 points, Ponziani fourth with 24 and Relph fifth with 19.

The next round will take place at Cremona, between 2-4 May.
