After sitting out the opening Moto 2 free practice session earlier today, Remy Gardner (Tech 3 Racing) emerged for Free Practice 2, to post a best lap time of 1m35.298s for 26th overall.
Unfortunately, Gardner’s Aussie teammate for this round, Bryan Staring, crashed out at the turn-four hairpin early in the session after posting the 29th fastest time of 1m36.484s, slightly quicker than his best time from Free Practice 1 (1m36.55s). The damage to Staring’s bike appeared to be superficial, while Staring was able to limp from the scene with some assistance from the marshals. Both should be ready to return to action tomorrow.
KTM rider Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) topped the second free practice timesheets with a 1m33.701s lap, finishing ahead of Kalex-mounted Marcel Schrotter (Dynavolt Intact GP) with a 1m33.959s and Iker Lecuona (Swiss Innovative Investors) with a 1m34.051s lap on his KTM.
