Despite Yamaha making a late play for Manuel Gonzalez, it appears Jack Miller will partner Razgatlioglu in 2026
Yamaha weighed a late move for Moto2 leader Manuel Gonzalez, but will retain Jack Miller for 2026 at Pramac. It emerged in Hungary that Yamaha made a late play to sign Moto2 championship leader Manuel Gonzalez to partner Toprak Razgatlioglu in the Pramac team in 2026. But after some discussion it seems they will persist with Jack Miller instead.

Miller’s frustration at Yamaha’s indecision was on display on Thursday. “I’ve been more than patient enough. If you want me, you want me. If you don’t, you don’t,” he said. And there was a hint of dismay when he learned of their interest in Gonzalez.

“The more time goes on, yes, I feel that (they don’t want me),” he said. “The more names that you hear coming onto the list. I’m looking forward to develop – I was looking forward to developing the V4 and working closely to try and help them.”
Gonzalez’s deadline to inform his current IntactGP team of a move to MotoGP was in Austria. Yamaha approached the German outfit to extend the deadline, which they did for a further week. It’s believed some prominent Italians at Yamaha attempted to convince Japanese management to sign the Spaniard.

But in the end, Miller got the nod with his experience with V4 engine configurations deemed valuable by many involved in the project. “I don’t know what is going on with Pramac. But I think it’s great to keep Jack, because he’s the one who has much more experience with the V4,” said Fabio Quartararo. “I mean, I never rode a V4, Alex rode a Honda for half a year then got injured, Toprak never rode a MotoGP bike. So you have to keep one guy that has experience with a V4, I think.”
