Husqvarna unveils Vitpilen 701 | NEWS

Three down and one to go for Husky’s new roadbike assault

Two years after the initial prototypes, Husqvarna has whipped the covers off the final production versions of its all-new roadbike range at this year’s EICMA show in Milan.

Headed by the Vitpilen 701, the firm also showed the finished versions of both the Vitpilen 401 and the Svartpilen 401, though used the event to release yet another concept version of the Svartpilen 701.

All machines are based around the corresponding single-cylinder KTM engine powering the Duke range, with the 401 using the Austrian firm’s 390 and the 701 employing the services of the 690’s powerplant, said to be good for 56kW (75hp).

The Vitpilen 701 also boasts a ride-by-wire throttle, traction control and switchable ABS.

The three production versions will be available early next year at yet-to-be announced prices.
