Here’s a handful of know-how that will keep your knees in the breeze while you gain confidence on adventure bikes

With our annual Adventure issue looming large, our resident crayon-wielder was getting nervous. AMCN’s Art Director Paul Andrews hasn’t got his wheels dirty in recent times and the thought of heading into the snow with little recent ride time was eating him.

Luckily, we had a Yamaha WR250R on hand, and a perfect training ground in Staff Writer’s Pete Vorst’s five-acre backyard, sheep and all. I dusted off my old rider trainer cap – or beanie, as it turned out, it was freezing – and set about building Paul’s skills and confidence on an Adventure bike. Well, mostly, anyway…
