Gonzalez finishes second to maintain Moto2 championship lead, Agius narrowly misses out on top 10 from 8th row grid position
Jake Dixon delivered a masterclass at the Gran Premio YPF Energía de Argentina, securing a commanding Moto2 victory by 3.5 seconds. The ELF Marc VDS Racing Team rider was untouchable from the start, seizing the holeshot from polesitter Manuel Gonzalez. Filip Salač initially joined his teammate at the front, creating a Marc VDS one-two before Gonzalez reclaimed second place.

As the race progressed, Dixon steadily extended his lead, surpassing the one-second mark by Lap 8 and stretching the gap to over 1.5 seconds four laps later. With each lap, his dominance was unquestionable, leaving his rivals with no chance to challenge. Meanwhile, the battle for third intensified following Salač’s retirement on Lap 11 after an unsuccessful move on Marcos Ramirez. Celestino Vietti capitalized on the incident, fending off Aron Canet to claim his first podium of the season.

Dixon’s flawless performance secured his first victory aboard a Boscoscuro machine, while Gonzalez’s second-place finish helped him maintain his lead in the championship standings. Vietti rounded out the podium, rebounding from disappointment in Thailand. Canet settled for fourth, with Ramirez completing the top five. Darryn Binder finished sixth, followed by a strong ride from Alex Escrig in seventh. Alonso Lopez, rookie Daniel Holgado, and Albert Arenas completed the top ten.

Senna Agius had a steady race, overcoming a poor qualifying to battle his way from 22nd on the grid up to P13.
