Marquez storms to pole with record-breaking lap, Zarco stuns front row slot
Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) left the field in his wake once again at the Gran Premio YPF Energia de Argentina, marking his first back-to-back poles since 2019. With a blistering 1:36.917 lap, Marquez smashed the Termas de Rio Hondo lap record, becoming the first rider to clock a 1:36 at the venue and securing pole by a quarter of a second.

His brother, Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP), followed closely in second place, while Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR) secured a surprise third, giving Honda its first front-row start since 2023.

The battle for Q2 saw Franco Morbidelli (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) and Joan Mir (Honda HRC Castrol) emerge from a dramatic Q1 session. In Q2, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) settled for fourth, just ahead of rookie sensation Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) completed the second row in sixth.

Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) secured his best qualifying result of the season in seventh, ahead of Morbidelli. Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) and Mir rounded out the top ten.
Miller just missed out on a Q2 birth and will start from 13th place for tomorrow’s race.
