The undefeated streak for American Justin Brayton (Honda) continued at the third round of the Australian Supercross Championship held at Virginia, South Australia, on 28 October. He’s had it all his way this series, leading nearly every lap over the three main events.

After a pair of second-place finishes, Dean Ferris (Yamaha) was left picking up his bike when Luke Clout (Honda) crashed over a jump while leading the opening lap, taking several riders down with him. Ferris managed to claw his way back into fourth place, and left it to teammate Dylan Long (Yamaha) to make a charge at Brayton. He kept in touch with the Honda rider for the entire race, but was unable to get close enough
to make a pass.

Kade Mosig (Yamaha) put together the puzzle pieces for a solid ride in third. It was his and Long’s first podium of the year.

In the SX2 class, Wilson Todd (Yamaha) went one better than his maiden podium last round to claim his first win at Virginia. Todd looked untouchable out front, running away to a comprehensive win. Defending champion Jackson Richardson (Yamaha) finished behind Todd, rediscovering the form of last year after a less than impressive opening two rounds. Dylan Wills (Husqvarna) finished third to give his new team their first podium. For Wills it was just a matter of time – he won his heat race and always looked set to threaten the rest of the field. Red-plate holder Gavin Faith (Honda) had a rough night after injuring his wrist at Bacchus Marsh. He has decided to head home to the US and get surgery to ensure he’s right to defend his title in the AMA Arenacross series starting early next year.
