The 2023 KTM RC 8C is a purpose-built track bike created first created in 2021. The second generation boasts an evolved LC8c engine, upgraded electronics, more weight-saving solutions and high-end components.

The engine

The increase of 7 hp for maximum power of 135 hp at 11,000 rpm was achieved with new, lighter titanium valves and conrods, two piston rings, higher compression ratios, a bigger throttle body and a bolstered fuel pump/pressure. Increasing the clutch preload, removing the top balancer, and adjusting the crankcase balancer shaft have added durability and a PANKL oil cooler helps thermal stability.

Light weight

The 2023 KTM RC 8C weight has been lightened to just 142 kg with updates like the new titanium Akrapovic exhaust system and the precision feel has increased with updated settings from the latest WP PRO COMPONENTS including WP APEX PRO fork and shock.

Electronics

A fully adjustable refined electronics package allow any setting of traction control, mapping and engine braking to match any level of ability (or ambition). The race bike can be primed in a number of ways; from the adjustable steering head to the offset of the CNC-machine triple clamps, the throttle response and degree of bite from the Brembo Stylema calipers and RCS19 Corsa Corta master cylinder.

Racing goodies

A revamped dashboard with GPS data-logger will flash-up the lap-record attempts while the KTM RC16 derived handlebar switches put the rider’s left thumb in full control while the left foot hammers through the reverse pattern of the race quickshifter.

Winglets and aerodynamics derived from the MotoGP KTM RC16 adds downforce and efficiency under braking and acceleration.

The 2023 KTM RC 8C will be toasted with an ultra-special track day for 30 customers at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on April 26th. Places can be secured with former Grand Prix riders offering track tuition and a full KTM and WP Suspension technical crew on hard to dial-in the configuration of the new bike to the 14-corner Grand Prix venue. This is the full factory racer experience!
