Jett overcomes early crash to extend winning streak and strengthen the Aussie’s hold on the 450 AMA Pro Motocross title
The Honda HRC Progressive squad delivered another dominant display at round 7 of the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, held at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minnesota. The Lawrence brothers once again commanded the premier 450 class, going 1-2 in both motos and leaving the competition in their dust. With 2-1 scores, it was reigning champion Jett Lawrence who claimed the overall win ahead of his older brother and teammate, Hunter.

Jett wasted no time in Moto 1, snatching the holeshot aboard his CRF450RWE with Hunter tucked right behind him. But the race took a dramatic turn early when Jett tipped over in a corner during the opening lap, dropping to 11th position. Undeterred, the 20-year-old quickly remounted and launched an aggressive comeback through the pack. By the end of lap 1, he was already back in 10th, and within five laps he’d climbed to third. A memorable pass on Eli Tomac took him to second, where he remained—a full 15 seconds behind Hunter, who rode flawlessly out front to secure the moto win.

Moto 2 saw the Lawrence brothers recreate their rapid starts, with Jett once again taking the holeshot, Hunter right in tow. This time there were no setbacks. The pair controlled the race from start to finish, setting a blistering pace and putting an enormous gap on the rest of the field. When the checkers flew, third place finished an astonishing 40 seconds behind Hunter, underscoring the HRC duo’s near-supernatural pace. With his Moto 2 win, Jett sealed another overall victory—his second in as many years at the Spring Creek venue.

Fast lap honours in both 450 motos went to Jett, further proving his raw pace throughout the day. His ability to turn quick laps both in clean air and while slicing through the pack exemplifies why he remains the favourite as the series rolls on.
The result extends Jett’s premier-class overall win tally to 21 in just 22 starts, tying him with American motocross great Rick Johnson for fifth place on the all-time list. He also joins a prestigious club of riders to have won multiple overalls at Millville, including Bob Hannah, Ron Lechien, Ricky Carmichael and Eli Tomac.

With five rounds remaining, Jett continues to lead the 450 championship standings, now holding a 51-point lead over Hunter, who in turn has a comfortable 39-point cushion over third.
Next up, the AMA Pro Motocross series heads west for round 8 at Washougal MX Park in Washington, set for July 19. The question heading into the next chapter: can anyone stop the Lawrence brothers steamrolling the 450 class?
