Rabat takes first steps 24h after surgery | MOTOGP | SPORT

Spaniard suffered right leg fractures in FP4 and just a day after his operation, he was walking again

Tito Rabat (Reale Avintia Racing) was evacuated to hospital via helicopter after being caught up in a FP4 incident that saw himself, Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar), Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) and Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) crash at Turn 7 due to major aquaplaning.

Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) also ran on, but it was Morbidelli’s bike that unfortunately hit Rabat as the Spaniard walked through the gravel after crashing.

Rabat was diagnosed with femur, tibia and fibula fractures in his right leg and underwent emergency operation at the University Hospital Coventry on Saturday. However, just 24 hours after his surgery, the Spaniard was photographed standing and walking in hospital. It’s fantastic to see the Ducati rider already on the mend, with the timescale of his recovery yet to be confirmed.
