Valentino Rossi injured in enduro accident | NEWS

38-year-old Italian rider Valentino Rossi has been hospitalised after an endurance motocross accident

Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) was involved in an enduro accident during training close to his hometown Tavullia on Thursday, August 31st.

Reports say that Rossi sustained an injury to both the tibia and fibula of the leg that he previously broke in his high-speed practice crash at Mugello in 2010.

He is likely have surgery tomorrow.

His father reported “Valentino is not optimistic. They fear there is a fracture. To do the radiograph they had to cut the boot, and Valentino told me he feels very bad.”

Yamaha will issue a further medical bulletin in due course.
