100 days until Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2017 | EVENTS

Today marks 100 days until the Michelin Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2017, when the world’s best motorcycle riders will descend on the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from 20-22 October.

 This year’s event has a variety of new enhancements including additional powered campsites, greater vehicle accessibility in rain, hail or shine, wider seating in all grandstands and premium seating in the Doohan grandstand, featuring arm-rests, flip-up seats and drink holders.

Key Stats around the Michelin Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2017:

  • 100 – Today marks 100 days until the Michelin Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2017.
  • 90 – 90 helicopter flights flew to the scenic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit last year, so now is the time to grab your mates and get to and from this year’s MotoGP in style. Skip the Island traffic and book your coach-n-fly experience!
  • 80 – Tickets from $80 for families in general admission. This includes two adults and two children up to 17 years of age or one adult and three children up to 17 years of age.
  • 70 – The only current MotoGP rider born in the ‘70’s is Italian motorsport icon Valentino Rossi. Rossi is a multiple MotoGP World Champion, having won seven world titles.

  • 40 – Tickets from $40 for adults in general admission and from $23 for Concession. Children under 14 go FREE with any adult.
  • 30 – 30 years since Wayne Gardner’s Championship win. This also marked the first time in history an Australian won the world title.
  • 20 – 20 years since Mick Doohan’s Championship win in 1997. This was one of his most successful years, as he won 12 out of the 15 races that season.
  • 10 – There are only 10 World Championship points separating the top four riders in the hunt for season honours. 

Australian Grand Prix Corporation Deputy CEO, Ashley Davies, said the stage is set for the 2017 MotoGP World Champion to be sealed at Phillip Island.
 
“The competition this season has been strong, with only ten points separating the top four riders in the Championship standings, meaning every single race counts,” said Davies. 
 
“For the first time ever, fans can enjoy powered campsites at the Trackside Campground and the event will also have many other upgrades to enhance the experience, including easier parking and seating improvements across the circuit,” he said.
 
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation is offering fans $20 off selected general admission tickets if they purchase online before July 31, 2017.
